Music Video Part I

A testament to their very effective talents at singing slow, emotional songs, 2AM often uses simple storylines or sets to expand their dramatic singing styles. Their debut video, “This Song” makes a great use of behind the scenes footage as they sing about having nothing but their talent to offer. In “A Friend’s Confession,” dark clothing mixed with rain and dramatic vignettes up the ante while 2AM sings about wanting to be more than friends. A stunning, emotional use of school photos is used in “Graduation.”

In 2010 we start to see higher production values and concepts for 2AM videos as they fall in line with the standard display of constructed sets and stylized costuming, hair, and makeup (“Can’t Let You Go Even If I Die”), and we also get to see a lighter side of the group in their participation for the FIFA World Cup project (“No. 1”). Higher production values mixed with storylines are presented to fans in the video for the single “You Wouldn’t Answer My Calls”, but the group reminds viewers that they don’t need a storyline to tell you what’s happening in the abstract video, “Like Crazy.” The group shows an extremely dapper and genteel image in the video for “I Wonder if You Hurt Like Me,” while they deal with sad content but present a light concept in “One Spring Day.”
