Music Video Part II

“Mirror Mirror” takes place on a closed set with the familiar use of light shows and reflective surfaces. In “Free Style,” 4Minute members make use of a location set and playfully wash a late model car. As with their Japanese version for “Muzik,” the video for the Japanese version of “Heart to Heart” is different from the Korean version: instead of the “bad boyfriend” storyline, the group makes use of closed sets and lots of individual member shots.  “Ready Go” is the only video that showcases an original and a dance version.  In 2012, 4Minute produced eponymous videos that promoted their Korean and Japanese mini-albums. “Volume Up” ratchets up the group’s sensual side, making use of vampire motifs, rich costuming details, and even reptiles to convey smoldering sexual confidence. In an interesting twist, the group created an alternate, shorter video for the song, taking inspiration from Bollywood movie tropes.  The “Love Tension” video receives a relatively simple treatment, using clean, modern costuming and showcasing the group in a calmer light with less intricate choreography.
