Music Video Part I

Big Mama videos often highlight the concerns of the modern woman while cheekily imploring women to shrug off those concerns in pursuit of self-determination. In their debut video, “Break Away,”  Big Mama members stand behind a stage while women who meet the socially acceptable Asian female beauty standard lip-synch to a room full of men. In “Resignation,” the pain of disillusionment in love becomes apparent as Lee Young Hyun belts out the song at the piano, and another woman decides to cut off all possibilities of a future in “Woman.”  “Sori” shows the power of Big Mama as the world stops and starts at the sound of their voices.

Big Mama lightens the mood with a Christmas video for “Jingle Bell Rock,” which is sung in perfect English and accompanied by footage that reminds watchers to remember the reason for the season. For “I Love You,” poignant scenes from the movie Blossom are included since the song is part of the OST. For their final video, “Going Crazy Waiting,” disappointment, memory, and lost love combine to create a sad video with a cliffhanger ending.
