BoA completed her promotion of Identity in 2010, releasing videos for her duet with Japanese artist Daichi Miura and her song “まもりたい (White Wishes),” the latter video reflecting a simple treatment where BoA records the song onto her computer. In 2010, BoA promoted singles from her Korean comeback album Hurricane Venus. The first single is eponymous and harkens back to her video for “Girls On Top” where she is in a clear box as male backup dancers attempt to take her over. In “Game,” BoA invites viewers to her game as she takes on different “roles” through costuming, makeup, and environments. The repackage of Hurricane Venus promoted the lead single “Copy & Paste,” where BoA wakes up in a graphic set and dances confidently, letting her male suitors know they are replaceable.

In 2012, BoA released three videos for another Korean album (Only One). The eponymous single has two treatments: a “drama version” with a storyline of a relationship that is about to end, and a dance version showing off the choreography created by NappyTabs. BoA’s second single from the album, titled “The Shadow” was released in the summer of 2012 and is consistent with BoA’s earlier work, focusing on slick choreography performed on modern studio sets.
