Brown Eyed Girls quickly set themselves apart from other groups with their debut video for the single “Come Closer.” The video focuses on a story line and the group never makes an appearance. B.E.G. continues to withhold their appearance in the videos for “To My Lover,” and don’t make an appearance until “Oasis,” which showcases the group as they enjoy a road trip and go camping. B.E.G. returns to their R&B roots in the video for “I Was Fooled By You,” which hinges on a storyline about a man who tries to have simultaneous romantic relationships with each group member. In 2008 B.E.G. shows an upbeat but varied image of themselves in their videos for “LOVE” and “How Come” - in the latter video, the group shows their emotive chops by personifying feelings that often arise in matters of unrequited love.

2009 was a year of marked success and controversy for the group as they showed off a mature image. The video for “Abracadabra” features JeA and Gain in mature sexual situations. This video caused such a stir that the group created a “stage version” for broader distribution, and the choreography for the song became so popular that it spawned several parodies. Another popular video during that year, “Sign” also caused ripples among Kpop fans for its violent images - including those of bandmates being drowned in a tank of water.

In 2011, B.E.G. debuted in Japan with a Japanese language version of their song “Sign.” The group created a new video, less controversial video for the Japanese song. They also continued their Korean promotions with the release of the video for “Sixth Sense.” This video continues to feature the women in mature situations of bondage and rebellion against an unknown military state.
