Discography Part I

SHINee has produced a number of varied projects including albums, repackaged albums, mini-albums, Commercial Film songs, and original soundtracks for Korean dramas.

SHINee’s first album SHINee World includes a range of songs featuring rap, R&B ballads, and some sampling (“Love’s Way”). The second single from SHINee World, “Love Like Oxygen” takes instrumental arrangements and vocalization cues from the late American performer Michael Jackson (1958 - 2009). Romeo, SHINee’s first mini-album,  is a thematic work loosely based on the Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet. The tracks  work through all five acts of the play, starting when the young lovers meet (Talk to You) on through the ending of their story (Romeo+Juliette).  Moving forward, 2009 The Year of Us brings songs with more mature lyrics. Elements of R&B are used to evoke emotion, and mixing these elements with pop and electronica arrangements helps retain SHINee’s approachable image. This trend continues with their second album, Lucifer, which features their heavily promoted single of the same name along with several ballads.
