Music Video Part I

Crown J’s video catalog consists of four items, averaging one single per release in his discography. Additionally, his videos exhibit simple story lines and place more emphasis on promoting the music over production values (particularly evident in the videos for “Fly Boy” and “I’m Good!”).  Crown J’s first video, “V.I.P.” serves to introduce viewers to the rapper as he performs his song in various environments, including a recording studio and an underpass in an urban environment. In “I’ll Take Her Away,” Crown J shows a romantic image as he watches a pretty woman be ignored by her boyfriend and vows to treat her better. In the simply shot videos for “Fly Boy” and “I’m Good,” images that are familiar to American audiences make an appearance, with emphasis on overt sexuality, consumption, partying, and unstructured leisure time.
