Original Jewelry members Park Jung Ah, Lee Ji Hyun, Jung Yoo Jin, and Jun Eun Mi, released their first album, Discovery, in the spring of 2001. Poor album sales led to the group’s first roster change, bringing in Seo In Young and Cho Min Ah to replace Jung Yoo Jin and Jun Eun Mi. This roster released the group’s second album, Again, focusing on R&B ballads and dance pop songs. In the summer of 2003, the group released their third album, Beloved, promoting the singles “I Really Like You” and “Fool.” In 2005, the group released their one of their most popular albums, Superstar, featuring the extremely popular eponymous single and the R&B tune “Passion.” The album was so popular that when the group debuted in Japan in with their first Japanese album “Jewelry First,” they quickly followed up with a Japanese-language version of Superstar.

In 2008, Jewelry underwent another member change, with Cho Min Ah and Lee Ji Hyun choosing to leave the group. Exiting members were replaced with Eunjung and Baby J, and this roster released the group’s next album, Kitchi Island. The singles “One More Time” and “Everybody Shh” continued the group’s popular momentum from Superstar, winning the group a Daesang award for digital sales. The group continued their Korean music promotions in 2009, releasing Sophisticated and the album repackage, End And... which signaled the departure of Seo In Young and Park Jung Ah.

In 2010 and 2011, Seo In Young and Park Jung Ah were replaced with Yewon and Semi, and the new roster released the single “Back It Up” in January 2011. This single was followed by another single, “Pass,” and the special Christmas single “Shooting Star.”
