Music Videos Part I

EXO’s unique sub-group strategy - releasing the same music for different markets in Korea and China - means that both groups create videos for the version of the song that they are performing. EXO-K releases videos for the Korean language version (but also makes an appearance in the Mandarin version), and EXO-M releases videos for the Chinese version while making an appearance in the  Korean language version.

EXO’s first video supports their debut song, “What is Love,” featuring the group members gathering clues and chasing a lunar eclipse.  The group’s second single, “History” finds group members performing in rocky, almost intergalactic terrain. In MAMA, EXO’s founding story is told as members take inspiration from ancient monastic communities but ending up showing off their rocker images.

To promote their first full-length album (XOXO), EXO released the video “Wolf,” showing off their ability to perform abstract choreography and heightening fans’ awareness of the group’s rebellious image. For the repackage of XOXO (Growl), EXO performs a seemingly continuous shot of funky choreography as they perform to the camera in fitting grey suits.
