Music Video Part II

Rock riffs and cleaner choreography continue to be the hallmark when the group releases their next album and video, Iyah, in 1999. The group also continues to incorporate dark themes of death and war in their video “Git it Up.” In 2000 the group returns to their roots, showing footage of their preparations for a concert for their single “Together Forever, and showing behind the scenes glimpses of their participation in S.M. Entertainment’s annual Christmas festivities (“Jingle Bell”). In 2000, the group released two videos to support their album Outside Castle: “Outside Castle,” and “A Song for Lady,” both making use of classic close-up shots. In these later videos we also see the beginnings of make-up and nail artistry on male idols.

These new costume uses fall in line with the H.O.T.’s foray into feature-length film with the release of their OST for the futuristic film Age of Peace. The group released a video (“Operation Takeover”), which takes place in a complete green-screen environment.  H.O.T’s final video, “Angel Eyes” features only two group members: Hee Jun and Kangta - as they get ready to join in holiday festivities.
